Hyperpigmentation or melasma is a skin condition that makes certain parts of the skin darker than the rest. It is caused when there is an overproduction of melanin in certain parts of the skin, which is what causes the dark areas to appear.
Overexposure to sunlight is believed to be the most common reason for Hyperpigmentation. But there are few other factors, that can cause this such as anxiety, hereditary qualities, sudden changes in hormone production, and certain types of Infections (e,g, Cyanosis, and Jaundice).
Hyperpigmentation makes the skin appear dull and sketchy. Plus it is also very difficult to treat. However, there are a few natural home remedies that you can try out to relieve some of the side effects of this skin problem, and that’s what we’re going to discuss here.
1. Lemon Juice and Honey
To reduce the effects of hyperpigmentation, a mixture of lemon juice and honey is believed to be very effective. The honey nectar works as a skin conditioner, whereas the lemon juice can act as a gentle fade to relieve the shade of the skin.
To prepare this combo, just blend a glass of lemon juice with an equal amount of natural raw nectar. Apply the mixture on the affected parts of your skin and let it rest for around 10 to 20 minutes before you wash them off. People with very sensitive skin should avoid this cure.
