Milk is a treasure trove of many essential minerals and vitamins that you should not miss during the pregnancy period. Drinking full cream or whole milk is considered better than skimmed milk as it is loaded with vitamins A, D, E, and K, which is mostly lost in the latter variety. Milk also is a rich source of calcium, amino acids, and proteins. Your body needs at least a liter of milk protein daily. It contains medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) and antioxidants that help lower cholesterol. For lactose intolerants, there are a wide variety of lactose-free alternatives such as soy milk, goat’s milk, almond milk, rice milk, or oat milk.
