Just ¾ cup of beans or lentils daily reduces bad cholesterol (LDL) by up to 5%. Diabetics can improve their blood sugar levels by eating beans too.

There is an amazing variety of beans and lentils available out there, so you can try something different every day and keep things interesting. Canned beans are usually high in sodium, so remember to rinse them before you eat them.
