2. Pain in the calves
This is one of the unpleasant symptoms of varicosity, but it isn’t as usual as the veins becoming more prominent or other skin changes. Calf pain is not caused only by varicosity. Most healthy people also often feel pain and discomfort in their legs due to other, less dangerous, factors. Excessive physical activity, standing for long periods, uncomfortable positions, shoes, or clothing can cause pain in the calves.
So if you experience such pain after a long tiring day, then it’s unlikely that it is a result of a serious illness. But you should visit a doctor in case the pain doesn’t disappear soon and keeps bothering you for several weeks or even months.
